Drive
A drive is a location (medium) that is capable of storing and reading information that is not easily removed, like a disk or disc. All drives storefiles and programs that are used by your computer. For example, when you write a letter in a word proccesor the program is loaded from you hard drive and when you save the document it is saved to the hard drive or other disk or drive. Folder
A folder, also called a directory is a special space used to store files, other folders, and shortcuts on a computer. A good analogy is the manila folders seen in an office that are used to store papers or reports. When you are browsing the files on your computer using a filemanager, such as windowsExplorer, the icon for a folder will typically look similar to the image on the right.
